Byrd Cattle Company

Red Bluff, California - September 13, 2007
Enhanced Efficiency Female Sale &
“Best of Both Worlds”
Angus & Charolais Bull Sale
Sale Manager: Cotton & Associates
Auctioneer: Rick Machado

An unseasonably cool evening greeted some of the most progressive cattlemen and cattlewomen in the country at the new Byrd Cattle Company headquarters for the 7th Annual “Best of Both Worlds” sale.

Once again the sale was broadcast live to a worldwide audience over the Internet, and several lots were sold through this relatively new marketing avenue. Internet bidders and the many folks on the conference line joined those on the seats to make a memorable event, with cattle selling to 74 commercial and purebred breeders from the following 15 states: CA, OR, NV, ID, MT, WI, OK, TX, MO, AR, TN, KY, PA, VA and GA. 95 Angus & Charolais bulls averaged $3,572 and 39 Angus female lots averaged $10,576 – yet this hardly tells the whole story. Just over ½ of the cattle (52%) sold for $3,500 or less, and 40% sold for $3,000 or less – making high quality genetics obtainable for many who thought they could not afford a BCC bull or female.
